What living in a Fixer Upper has taught me..
Living in a fixer upper has taught me many things, one of them being patience( Im still working on this one if I am being totally honest). When we looked at our house we had no idea what was lurking, for lack of better words, behind the walls. In our case it was mold in the hvac system. We never could have imagined the work we would have to do.
Patience is something that I am still struggling with, I wanted to move in and get settled. I wanted to make our house cozy and ours right away. I have learned that sometimes things don’t always go as planned…well I kind of knew this already…. But you know what…
The time and energy put into this project by my husband and his dad makes this home all that much more special to me. They spent hours upon hours re doing electric, re framing walls, cleaning the crap out of the attic, making it a more livable space for us etc. I could gush for hours about how grateful I am that they made the roof over my head a safe one but I will resist.
Yes I am still working on being patient and making our home cozy. Waiting is hard but I am here to tell you that it is worth it. I know that fixer uppers can be scary, really owning a home is scary at times but taking the time to make a home a place where you can feel safe, comfortable and make memories is the greatest feeling ever. HANG IN THERE!
Thank you for stopping by the blog today! Feel free to share with me how you are creating a cozy home for your family and what it means to you.
