Laundry Room Update

Confession: I love doing laundry! I know I am a weirdo but I truly enjoy it, it is a nice mental break for me. Before we started demo and changing up the way our house functioned we had to make a decision; Do we keep the laundry room in the small closet it was in or do we add a laundry space to our sunroom? Ultimately it came down to the fact that this little cozy home of ours was lacking in storage space especially in the kitchen. Turning the closet into a pantry has been one of my favorite changes we have made so far.

The laundry space now occupies one end of our sunroom( a room of many functions) and I love it. It is so much brighter, cozier and just easier to do laundry in. To be honest, the laundry in the closet felt like I was in a cave. I love having the openness that the sunroom provides. The only downside is that, given the house is small and it is open you can hear the machines from other rooms. Again if I am being honest you would have been able to hear the machines through out the house no matter what.

Our first purchase for our new laundry space was cabinets. This girl loves cabinets and cabinet hardware and because there is so little storage in our 1959 rancher we decided they were a must. After we got the cabinets we also purchased a countertop and new machines. Now there was nothing really wrong with the other machines except that they were older, oh and my husband stepped on them during the demo process and left a dent. I have to tease him a little cause I love him so much.
