Happy New Year
Happy New Year Everyone!
This year I wanted to try something fun with a word of the year. Its a practice that is not necessarily for everyone but it is something I have wanted to try. This year the word I want to hold close to my heart is Gratitude. The definition of Gratitude is: “the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.”
I’m not always a big “resolution” person, usually I set them and never achieve them. If I don’t achieve them I feel a lot of guilt and then the cycle continues. I share this because maybe you can relate, maybe you are looking for a change even if its small this year. For me, this year I want to shift my frame of mind. Gratitude is something I have always felt and really cherished. Learning how to find ways to show my gratitude for the thigs I have or people (dogs too) in my life is really important to me this year.
Paying it forward this year goes hand in hand with my gratitude practice. One of my favorite ways to pay it forward is to buy coffee for the person behind me in line. Recently I learned that even sharing a smile is a great way to pay it forward. Sharing kindness and gratitude doesn’t have to be expensive or even big.
I want to wish you a very happy new year. Thank you for stopping by the blog today! What are some things that you are grateful for? Do you have a gratitude practice that you follow? How do you like to pay it forward?
