Antiquing- my most recent hauls

I have never really thought to share my antiquing adventures on here but I think I will start. I really have the best time searching for treasures, especially when my bestfriend (or more recently my husband) come along. I don’t know why but it has always been enjoyable. I like to look at and purchase pieces that I imagine have a great story to tell.

Recently I have found myself on the hunt for things like decoys, gardening tools and Victorian photographs to name a few( a little chest of tiny drawers is also high on my list). I will be the first to admit that when it comes to the Victorian photographs, I am a bit picky on which ones I will buy, some of them freak me out a little. I loved this one of what I think is a boys school photo. I only say that because the antique store had two of the same photo and the way they are grouped just reminded me of something like that.

Through the help of my bestfriend I was also able to find this decoy for $5…$5. The reason I am so excited about the cost is because they are usually are over $25. One thing I will say is that even if I have stuff in mind that I am looking for I try to go into vintage boutiques and antique stores with nothing really on my mind. The reason being is that sometimes I wont find things that I am looking for and other times I will find everything I am looking for. It really just depends on the store and how often I go. It really is a fun way to spend a Sunday (or any day really) .
