Wall Textures- Love them or Leave them?

Hello Friends. Even though I am enjoying the coziness of the winter days I am also thinking about the spring. One of the things on the list to complete this spring is my shed office. The reason I am bringing that up is because I convinced my husband to let me cover the walls in shiplap. Now I know what you are thinking, there are so many other wall textures why shiplap? In short, I love the look of it, it feels like a classic vintage farmhouse staple. At this time we don’t really have any place in our home to add it so the office shed seems like the best place. The second answer is that it will give me a beautiful space to create.

I will be the first to admit that I love a wall texture of some kind, yes even wall paper. A wood wall accent forget it, I am sold. In fact, we were talking about our dream to maybe one day update our bathroom and I mentioned the idea of adding bead board to the walls. Right now we have a tile from many years ago lining the bathroom walls. To me the bead board would make the space feel cozy, now it feels a little dated. But I digress, a bathroom remodel is not on the list of fixer upper projects(yet).

Sometimes adding a wall texture can be a little intimidating and may seem daunting. My mom has a picture of me and my sister helping her remove the 1990’s wall paper from our house. The smell of vinegar will forever haunt me. Today’s wall paper is very different and there are so many ways to apply it(some is peel and stick!!). If you want to try a wall texture but don’t want to commit to a whole room, try a half bath or chose an accent wall. What is your favorite wall texture? Do you have any rooms in your home that you have thought about adding texture. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today, I really appreciate it.
